    TEENA MURRAY

    Builder/Coach – Class of 2021

    Graduated PPHS in 1988

    Queen’s University, BED- Education, 1994 University of North Carolina- Greensboro, MS- Exercise Physiology, 1996

    Teena has always been passionate about building “Future Stars” – the name of the strength and conditioning camp she launched in the Summer of 1994 for local hockey players at the Shawville Arena. Murray, has spent the past 25 years building athletes and preparing champions in college, pro and Olympic sport. She’s currently Vice President of Health & Performance for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. Her career in sports performance has included stops at Cornell University, the University of Connecticut, and her longest stretch from 2004-2018 as Director of Performance at the University of Louisville. Outside the collegiate ranks, Teena has held consulting roles with USA Hockey, the International Ice Hockey Federation, Turkish Basketball Federation, the Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks and Hartford Wolfpack (AHL). Teena is an Emeritus Strength & Conditioning Coach with the National Strength & Conditioning Association and Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, and is currently completing an Executive Leadership program at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (Chicago).

    Coaching/Leadership accomplishments:

    • 2004-2018 – Director of Performance, University of Louisville
    • 2009, 2015, 2018 – 3- Final 4’s with University of Louisville Women’s Basketball
    • 2018 – High-Performance Consultant, Turkish Basketball Federation
    • 2006-2010 – Director of Performance, U.S Women’s National & Olympic Ice Hockey Team
    • 2008 – Women’s Hockey World Championships (China)
    • 2009 – Women’s Hockey World Championships (Finland)
    • 2010 – Women’s Hockey Olympic Silver Medal (Vancouver, BC)
    • 2011 – Awarded Guiding Woman in Sport Award by the National Association of Girls and Women in Sport
    • 11 Peer-reviewed publications & 2 book chapters, Strength & Conditioning industry

    Contribution to Panther sports: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Track & Field, Soccer, Awarded PPHS Outstanding Female Athlete in 1987 & 1988.

    Teena and her partner Kellie have two daughters, MacKay and Hadley.
