In The Heights ~ 2024

Pontiac High School’s theatre program wowed audiences this year with their captivating rendition of the Tony and Grammy award-winning musical, “In The Heights.”

The entire cast fully embraced their characters, delivering authentic and captivating performances that resonated with audiences, while Lead actors Callum Maloney and Ollie Côté delivered standout performances, setting the tone with their compelling portrayals of Usnavi and Vanessa, respectively. Griffin Lottes and Faith Hamilton added delightful humor and emotional depth as Sonny and Nina, while Isaac and Laura Graham brought nuance and charisma to the roles of Benny and Daniela.

Director Phil Holmes, alongside co-director Debra Paquette, led the charge in bringing Lin-Manuel Miranda’s dynamic story to life on Shawville’s Maple Street. Despite the challenges of producing such an ambitious show in a small-town high school, Holmes expressed excitement about the opportunity, crediting the remarkable talent of the cast and crew.

The production seamlessly weaved together 24 musical numbers across two acts, featuring creative stage design, top-notch sound, and lighting that captivated the audience from start to finish. “In The Heights” masterfully portrayed the layered struggles of a tight-knit community through dialogue, dance, rap, and song.

Stay tuned for updates on future productions and events
