Kelly played NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball from 1997 – 2001 as a member of the University of Connecticut’s Women’s Basketball Team. She was a key member of the 2000 NCAA Championship Team setting a “Final Four” record with a career high nine blocked shots during the national title game. Schumacher represented Team USA at the Williams Jones Cup in 2000 and was selected 14thoverall in the 2001 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever. After a nine-year professional basketball career, Schumacher decided to pursue a second athletic career in professional volleyball. In 23 professional events, Kelly placed in the top 10 eight times, with four of those placing in the top five. Schumacher currently still coaches in the Women’s National Basketball Association.

- Finished her NCAA career ranked 3rd all-time at UConn in career blocked shots
- Selected 14th overall in the WNBA to the Indiana Fever
- Second all-time in career blocked shots with the Indiana Fever
- 2000 USA Basketball’s R. William Jones Cup Team member in Taipei, Taiwan
- 2005-2006 Spanish League Champion
- 2007 WNBA champion with the Phoenix Mercury
- 2008 WNBA champion with the Detroit Shock
- 2010 AVP Professional Volleyball Tour
