MIKE RUSSENSTROM

Mike grew up in Bristol, Quebec, playing minor hockey for the Shawville Pontiacs. He attended PPHS from 1993-1996 participating in soccer, basketball and volleyball. In secondary four, Mike made the biggest decision of his life up to that point, deciding to leave home and chase his dream of becoming a hockey player. Rusenstrom transferred to West Carleton Secondary School in Carp, ON, and joined the Arnprior Packers Junior “B” hockey team. Through continued hard work and dedication to the sport he loved, Rusenstrom moved up the following year to the Kanata Valley Lasers Junior “A” hockey team where he continued to push himself on and off the ice. In 1998, he was drafted into the Ontario Hockey League by the Oshawa Generals. An asset to the team with a strong work ethic, Mike was a solid “stay-at-home” defenseman. He tallied a total 8pts and 131PIMS in 117 games played. Following his career in the OHL, Mike attended Algonquin College and obtained a diploma in Cabinet Making. He returned to the Pontiac in 2002 and began his coaching career at various levels including: Pontiac Jr. “B”, the Midget Pontiac Lions, as well as various younger age groups. Mike continues to dedicate his time and hockey knowledge to youth in the area and has spent the last 15 years working in the Financial Services industry throughout the Ottawa Valley and National Capital region.

Mike has a wife, Jenn, a daughter, Reese, and a son, Gavin.
At the age of twelve, Todd moved to Shawville where he learned to skate and discovered his passion for the game of hockey. Hearty played local minor hockey until his Junior years when he played for the Arnprior Packers Jr. “B” team. He also had stints playing with the Ottawa Jr. Senators and Pembroke Royals Jr. “A” organizations. His passion for the game led him to a career in the National Hockey League as an amateur scout. Seeking out the best talent around the world for the last twenty-two years, Hearty has contributed to building three successful NHL teams: the Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks and Philadelphia Flyers. In 2007, Hearty was part of the Stanley Cup winning team, the Anaheim Ducks, and is presently in his twelfth year as a Philadelphia Flyer.
